This program is intended to prepare students to work in a healthcare facility or in the related home health care field. Students will learn to provide timely access to quality healthcare through all phases of the healthcare continuum, determine needs of patients, identify resources, and create an appropriate discharge plan to prevent readmission. Certified Nursing Assistants handle day-to-day care of patients. The program is state approved and prepares students to work as an entry-level health care provider to patients in a variety of settings including long-term care facilities. The course includes 66 hours of theory and 108 hours of clinical segments. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program exam. The course is offered multiple times a year. Students are required to attend a mandatory orientation.
Nursing assistants are important health care professionals who handle day-to-day care of patients. There is currently high demand for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Acute Care Nursing Assistants, and Certified Home Health Aides in southern California and throughout the state. The Acute Care Nursing Assistant is a CNA who works in various departments of acute care hospitals. The class is an additional 96 hours including 32 hours of theory and 64 hours of clinical. Students who take the CNA program and pass the State Exam are eligible for the program. Space for the course is limited and students are accepted through a lottery system.
A student who is already a CNA is eligible to take this course. The course is state approved which includes 21 hours of theory and 21 hours of clinical. Once certified, a home health aide can be employed to care for people who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, or age-related problems in the setting of the client's home.
This short-term program is intended to prepare students to become a contact tracer in the
community health setting. The career development course increases employability and work
skills. This program is specifically for noncredit students who are seeking training in the community
health setting for immediate entry-level employment. Furthermore, this program will also provide
foundational community health skills and training for students to enter into more advanced
community health career programs. Students must pass both courses to earn the Contact Tracer

This short-term program is intended to prepare students to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to work for an ambulance service or in related fire departments, hospitals, or other rescue services. This program is specifically for noncredit students who are seeking training in the public safety field for immediate employment. Furthermore, this program will also provide foundational skills and training for students to enter into more advanced public safety programs. Students must pass both core courses to earn the Emergency Medical Technician certificate.
The EMT program is approved by the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) and Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS).

This training prepares the student to become a Personal Care Aide/Caregiver in 7-8 weeks. The program is designed to prepare students to assist elderly, disabled, or ill individuals living at home, in an assisted living facility, or at an adult day center. Students will learn skills in personal hygiene, safe transfer techniques, and stages of Alzheimer's and dementia. The course is typically offered four times a year. This certificate prepares students for entry-level positions within administrative or clinical career paths. Students will learn about the medical assistant scope of practice, tasks, and responsibilities, basic pharmacology for medical assistants, and medical front office operations. This course will provide students with a basic understanding of working in a physical therapy setting with patients who need rehabilitation from an injury or accident.
